THREE Exciting Contests!

Characters1200

Bucket of BeerThree —Count Them— Three JAWS Contests! Swim and Celebrate 50 years of JAWS with us!
(1) Dress and talk the part in our après swim Character Contest—think Quint’s grit, Hooper’s smarts, Brody’s nerves, the Mayor’s denial, Mrs. Kintner’s veiled bitterness, the lovely Ellen Brody, the obnoxious Mrs. Taft, Ben Gardner’s bloated face or “Bruce” him(or her)self.
(2) Show off your sass in the ‘Bad Hat Harry’ Contest.
(3) Then test your shark-sized knowledge in the Trivia Challenge at our after-party at Mountain Base Brewery.

The prize for all three contests is a BUCKET FULL OF GANSETT!

Volunteers, spectators and guests are all eligible. Join the fun—only at the Glen Lake Swim.

You Know You Want One!

TrophyThis year’s Glen Lake Swim trophy is both functional and fearsome—a self-standing bottle opener featuring a scene straight out of JAWS/FANGS. A perfect prize for those brave enough to survive the swim and earn some bragging rights. This trophy will go to the first three swimmers in each of our race divisions (male, female, wetsuit, skins) in both the one-mile and two-mile contests.

USMS New England Open Water Series

Swim in four of the five USMS-sanctioned New England open water swims and earn a visor and other goodies, sponsored by SwimOutlet.com!

USMSLogo225 SwimOutlet 162

To qualify for this award you must be a full-time member of USMS. Most of these events require either full time membership (which costs $75 for the full year and comes with many additional benefits) or you must pay a $20 one-event fee for each swim. This makes becoming a full-time member less expensive than paying four separate one-event fees!

The participating events are:

  • The Charles River Swim (June 14, 2025, Boston, MA)
  • MBCC Against The Tide* (June 14, 2025 Hopkington, MA and June 21, 2025, Brewster MA)
  • Swim With a Mission (July 12, 2025, Bristol, NH)
  • The Glen Lake Swim (August 17, 2025, Goffstown, NH)

* Note: One of the MBCC events is on the same date as the Charles River Swim, however MBCC offers a virtual option. To qualify for the award a swimmer only needs to participate in four of the five events. If for some reason one of the events is cancelled, then the series wil be three out of four. You do not need to sign up for the series separately. If you are a USMS member you are automatically in the hunt!

U.S. Masters Swimming is a national nonprofit that provides membership benefits to nearly 60,000 Masters swimmers across the country. USMS encourages adults to enjoy the health, fitness, and social benefits of swimming by providing more than 2,000 adult swimming programs and events across the country, including open water and pool competitions.
