Mt. Uncanoonuc
South Uncanoonuc summit

Goffstown has an abundance of recreational opportunities. Come to swim, then bike, run or hike! Make a day of your visit!

Bike
The swim venue is on the Goffstown Recreational Trail which features a seven-mile (14 mile round trip to and from the recreation center) ride to downtown Manchester, NH. The surface is mostly packed gravel, with pavement at the Manchester end. This is a scenic route and is a very easy ride on a hybrid or mountain bike. The Rail Trail follows the Piscataquog River and ends up crossing the mighty Merrimack to arrive in downtown Manchester.

Or you can bring your skinny-tire road bike and get in a 20-mile ride heading west along the river to New Boston then north on Rt. 77 before connecting back to Rt. 114 (via Gould Rd.) for the return trip to Goffstown.

Run
Run an out-and-back on the rail trail of any distance heading east from the Recreation Center (seven miles to downtown Manchester). Use these convenient landmarks for turn-around-locations: 1/2 mile to the first crossing of Mast Street; 1.75 miles to the second crossing of Mast Street; the Woman's Prison is at 2 Miles.

Hike
There is great hiking on nearby Mt. Uncanoonuc with scenic vistas. A downloadable trail map is attached to the bottom of this page in PDF format (Source http://www.goffstowntrails.com). Scroll down for directions to the trail head (about 2.25 miles from Goffstown High School).

Please note: These additional activities are NOT part of the swim event. This information is provided for informational purposes only.
